Hundreds of people who migrated to America for a better future for their children are now left with the thought of "Is my child safe?"
Today, thousands of people took to the streets of US cities to say "Families Belong Together" nearly two months after the Trump administration implemented its "zero tolerance" policy toward undocumented immigrants, prompting the separation of thousands of children from their parents.
There were several rallies and marches here in Southern California and I went to Downtown Los Angeles where event organizers estimated that 55,000 people took part. Demonstrators gather in front of L.A. City Hall to hear a wide range of speakers from politicians to celebrities.
Maxine Waters was among the many politicians in attendance. Despite the recent death threats she has received she showed no fear and had responded to those threats.
Singer John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen also took part in the rally and march alongside both their children and Teigen's mother. Teigen said a few words before introducing Legend who performed his new song 'Preach.'
After the approximately two-hour rally, demonstrators marched to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security where they continued to chant 'Abolish I.C.E' and 'Where are the Kids?'
